The Happy Prince / Счастливый принц

This book presents one of the best fairy tales by the classic of English literature, Oscar Wilde (1854-1900). Parallel literary translation of the unadapted original into Russian contributes to a better understanding of the work.

In order to help the reader gain lexical material faster, some English and Russian words are made lighter in colour.

The English word is transcribed in the margin and its Russian equivalent is provided with its stress indicated. This technique increases the efficiency of fixing unknown words in the memory of the reader and eliminates the need to use a dictionary for checking the meaning of selected words and expressions and so, in its turn, saves time and does not distract from reading.
